Vocal range test: measure your lowest and highest note with a microphone

한국어

Sing into your microphone and read your lowest and highest note as note names. The sound never leaves this browser.

Nothing is recorded and nothing is uploaded. Your result stays on this device.

Warm up before you measure

We wrote this guidance ourselves. It is not vocal training and not medical advice.

  1. Drop your shoulders and take a full breath through your nose.
  2. With your mouth closed, hum a low note and hold it.
  3. Hum up five semitones and back down again.
  4. Add a light lip trill and walk the same path once more.
  5. Take a sip of water and check that your throat feels easy.

When to stop

Stop right there if your throat hurts or your voice cracks. Do not push higher.

Measure your range

Turn the microphone on and the note you are singing appears right away.

Press Allow when the browser asks for the microphone. Audio is handled inside this page only.

How to measure

  1. Hold one comfortable note and check that a note name appears.
  2. Walk down a semitone at a time until your voice breaks up.
  3. Return to the comfortable note and walk up a semitone at a time.
  4. Press stop and read the result.

Hold a note for more than 3 frames before it counts as an end note.

Only frames with a clear period count (clarity 90% or more).

60Hz - 1200Hz

About the microphone

Audio is computed in memory and dropped immediately. Nothing is written to a file or sent to a server.

Records by date

No saved records yet.

Records live in this browser only. Clearing browser data clears them too.

What this tool does not do

There are no song titles, lyrics or karaoke track numbers here. Karaoke catalogues are protected data, so we do not carry them.

That also means it will not tell you which songs you can sing. Note names are all this tool knows.

Backing music confuses the reading. Measure in a quiet room with your voice alone.

This is not a medical or vocal-coaching judgement. Stop if your throat hurts, and see a doctor if you need one.

Anything below 60Hz or above 1200Hz is ignored. Singing voices barely reach there.
